The Friday 5

Friday, July 22, 2016

Once a Sunday School teacher started talking about the story of Jonah and the whale, and she asked what the story showed. A boy raised his hand "I know," he said, "People make whales sick."

5. You are cordially invited to participate in FBCHHI ‘Dinner for Six’ Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 5:00 PM
Who: Adult members and friends of FBCHHI, couples and singles (no children please).
What and Why: A fellowship time for members and friends of First Baptist Church Hilton Head Island, who will meet at local restaurants, in groups of six to make new friends and renew       old acquaintances within the church family.
When: Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 5:00 PM.
The early meeting time will help everyone avoid the dinner rush hour.
Where: There are ten restaurants from which to choose located on the Island and in Bluffton, offering a wide variety of restaurant choices and cuisine. Reservations are not being made       ahead of time. Meals are ‘Dutch-treat’.
  How to Participate:

•Sign up to participate by writing your name(s), phone number and email address on the list under your restaurant selection. The lists are located in the Family Life Center on a table in the multi-purpose room. There are only six slots available per restaurant. If one restaurant’s list is full, please choose another restaurant. If names are already on the lists, you are encouraged to join a group with someone you do not already know in order to expand your friendships within the church family -- the true purpose of this fellowship time.

•When you sign up please take a ‘D6’ - Dinner for Six sticker with you to wear on your clothing the evening of the dinner. You may not know someone new by sight, and this will help identify your new friends.

•The church will email you on Friday, August 5, with a list of those going to dinner with you. We will call those who do not have email.

•Enjoy your meal while making new friends and renewing old acquaintances.
Restaurants Choices: Giuseppi’s Pizza in Shelter Cover, Skull Creek Boathouse, Il Carpacio Ristorante Italiano, Jim & Nicks Bar-B-Q, Annie O’s, Longhorn Steakhouse, San Miguel’s Mexcian on the Marina. Truffles and Olive Garden spaces are already full. Make another selection from the list above and be prepared for an alternate if your restaurant of choice is full.

•Enjoy your meal while making new friends and renewing old acquaintances.

Get to know someone new. Sign up Sunday.
