Disciple Now: Our youth department provides a variety of opportunities for spiritual development and fellowship through discipleship training outside of Sunday School and Wednesday night's "High Tide" activities.
Youth Family Ministry: Our youth ministry desires to strengthen the bonds of families during the critical teenage years. We offer opportunities for students and their parents to learn together through Biblical training and fellowship.
Our youth are active in a variety of mission projecst and appreciate the opportunity to serve and do so in various ways throughout the year. Examples of how they serve the church and community are serving plates in the kitchen at First Baptist, acting as waiters for the Valentine’s Banquet at church, baking cookies during the holiday season to spread joy through the community, and traveling to the Old Savannah Mission to feed the homeless by serving in the soup kitchen. There are also opportunities to serve others during youth camp by painting and repairing properties of those unable to help themselves. They are learning that to be Christ-like, you must be a servant and there are many opportunities that fulfill this need in their hearts.
The youth enjoy "Back-to-School" and "End-of-the-Year" celebrations and retreats in the fall and spring. Sometimes the events are off campus for variety. The goal is to help our youth draw closer to the Lord while forming strong Christian bonds of friendship.
Each summer, our youth make plans to travel off campus, many times in another state, to attend a Christian camp that will allow them time to fellowship with youth from other areas, provide opportunities for them to grow spiritually and to reflect on their lives and how they can better live for the Lord.
